Adult Summer Reading Prizes: Highlighting Businesses in the Tri-Town!

It is not too late to sign up for the Topsfield Town Library 2024 Adult Summer Reading Challenge! The challenge is open to anyone 18 years of age or older through August 8, 2024. The Topsfield Town Library will be distributing $500 worth of prizes this summer, gift cards to local businesses all of which are located in the Tri-Town (Topsfield, Boxford, and Middleton). The Library is extremely excited to highlight these awesome local businesses!

The summer reading prizes were generously donated by the Friends of the Topsfield Town Library. As an aside, seriously check out the Friends, all that they do, and consider donating your time or resources to these awesome folks that help bring fun programs like this to Topsfield!!!

The winner of First Prize will be awarded “A Perfect Summer Day;” we will supply you with a $100 gift card to Maggie’s Farm in Middleton, a $25 gift card to Richardson’s Ice Cream in Middleton, and a $25 gift card to Golf Country (the mini-golf course/driving range next to Richardson’s in Middleton)! All together, this is a $150 value!

The lucky recipient of the Second Prize receives a “Sweet Treat!” We will supply you a $25 gift card to Richardson’s Ice Cream in Middleton, $25 gift card to Winfrey’s Chocolates (Middleton, and other locations), a $25 gift card to the Topsfield Bakeshop, and a $25 gift card to Zumi’s Espresso & Coffee. All together, this is a $100 value!

The Third Prize Winner will be able to Shop & Sip right in Downtown Topsfield, with a $50 gift card to the Perfectly Imperfect Gift Shoppe and a $25 gift card to Zumi’s Espresso & Coffee. All together, this is a $75 value.

If you don’t win one of the three main prizes, don’t despair! We will also do a drawing for gift cards to Francie’s Boutique, the Bagel Bin Deli, Boxford Community Kitchen, and Fresh Look Designs Tanning & Gifts.

How to Participate in Adult Summer Reading

Participate using Beanstack!

  • Download the Beanstack app (Apple App Store and Google Play Store) and create an account!
    • If your child has participated in summer reading at the Topsfield Town Library in past, or your child is registered for the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge, you may already have an account. In that case, log into your existing account, go to the Settings menu, click “Readers” and add a profile for yourself.
  • Register for the Adult Summer Reading Challenge 2024 at the Topsfield Town Library. Just by registering, you will automatically have one entry into our end-of-the-summer drawing for the chance to win some awesome prizes!
  • Log each book you read (any format counts, including audiobook, e-book, etc., and any genre counts, including a graphic novel, the Great American Novel, whatever appeals to you!) Each book read is another entry into the end-of-the-summer drawing.
  • Write book reviews for books you’ve read in the Beanstack app; each submitted review is another entry into our end-of-the-summer drawing! (Note: reviews should be at least a sentence or two, and please let us know if you don’t mind us sharing your review on our website).
  • Complete and check off each of the twelve activities in the Beanstack app (e.g. Check out an item from the Library of Things collection, Borrow a Museum Pass from the Library) and receive entries into the end-of-the-summer drawing!

All entries must be received by August 8, 2024 at 7pm.

Summer Reading Challenge Packet

  • Pick up a Summer Reading Challenge packet at the library’s Circulation Desk beginning June 13. When you pick up a packet, give your name to the desk attendant; you will automatically have one entry into our end-of-the-summer drawing for the chance to win some awesome prizes!
  • Starting June 13, log each book you read in the Summer Reading Challenge packet (any format counts, including audiobook, e-book, etc., and any genre counts, including a graphic novel, the Great American Novel, whatever appeals to you!)
  • Write book reviews for books you’ve read in the Summer Reading packet; each review you write is another entry into the end-of-the-summer drawing! (Note: reviews should be at least a sentence or two, and please check off the box if you don’t mind us sharing your review on our website anonymously!)
  • Complete and check off each of the twelve activities in the packet (e.g. Check out an item from the Library of Things collection, Borrow a Museum Pass from the Library) and receive entries into the end-of-the-summer drawing.

All entries must be received by August 8, 2024 at 7pm.
