Did you miss our talk on fraud prevention?
We were very excited to welcome Maureen Richard-Saltman, from the Perfectly Imperfect Gift Shoppe, who shared with us her expertise on preventing phishing, smishing, and scamming attempts. Maureen had a previous career as a “fraud fighter” for Nextel/Sprint before becoming the owner of the Perfectly Imperfect Gift Shoppe here in Topsfield.
Suspicious texts, emails, and phone calls are increasing in frequency. You can protect yourself and your loved ones from having your information or money stolen by being on the lookout for anything that seems odd or too good to be true. For all of Maureen’s best tips on preventing fraud, view her slide show below, and keep an eye out for future presentations on protecting yourself from getting scammed.
If you think you have been scammed, had your identity stolen, or been a victim of fraud, visit FTC.gov to report the incident and get information and assistance in resolving the situation. Stay safe out there!
