Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body
by Roxane Gay
This memoir is as brilliant as it is brutal; as triggering as it is illuminating; and as informative as it is human. Roxane Gay is a phenomenal writer who bravely shares her story of how her relationship to her body changed as a response to a brutal trauma in her youth. She also explores the experiences of being a large body in a world not designed for or particularly kind to bodies like hers. Trigger warning: sexual assault.
