The Topsfield Town Library is excited to announce the opening of our new interactive exhibit in the library’s Meeting Room, titled “Float On”. Inspired by conversations with many of our library’s patrons about grief, loss, and hopelessness during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibit is the product of hard work from two of our library’s staff members, Noelle and Lindsey. The exhibit was designed not just as a space of solace, but with the goal of finding hope during the darkest of times.
The most defining feature of the exhibit is the Gratitude Wall. Participants are urged to express what you are grateful for, while remembering what may have been lost during the pandemic.
Another aspect of the exhibit highlights some of the positive news that happened during the pandemic. For example, did you know that scientists have declared that cheese isn’t so bad for you?!?
Finally, the exhibit highlights mental health resources, including selections for our library’s collection, handouts (for example, on dealing with stress and grief), bookmarks, and an affirmation flyer to remind yourself of your importance.
The Float On exhibit will be on display through the end of July. Please be sure to check it out!
