In March, we celebrate Women’s History Month, and March 8th in particular we celebrate International Women’s Day, where we all take a moment to appreciate trailblazing women and the vital role they have played in our history, while striving to make a more inclusive and equal world today.
At the Topsfield Town Library, we are celebrating this month with special displays in our Children’s Room, Teen Room, and Non-Fiction sections.
In our Fiction section, all of the books we have on display in our stacks and all our shelf-talkers shine a spotlight on excellent women authors in our collection and their works, including Lucy Foley (author of the just released and extremely popular The Paris Apartment, Tana French (who was the author of one our highest circulating items in 2021, The Searcher) Abi Dare‘s unforgettable The Girl with the Louding Voice, Janet Skeslien Charles’ The Paris Library (which, according to Kirkus Reviews, is a “novel tailor-made for those who cherish books and libraries), Yaa Gyasi‘s Transcendent Kingdom, local author Quan Berry‘s We Ride Upon Sticks, Octavia Butler‘s Kindred, and Nalini Singh‘s thriller A Madness of Sunshine (pictured on shelf here!), and many more!
Among the newest additions to our collection include Nobel Prize for Literature winner Toni Morrison’s short story Recitatif, which was published for the first time in a standalone version in 2022.
