Overdrive Digital Library allows you to download ebooks, audiobooks, popular magazines and even videos. Browse the catalog on your computer, or download the free app “Libby” to read on your phone, tablet, or Kindle. Need help downloading? Click here!

Kanopy is a FREE streaming video site where you can browse over 30,000 movies to watch on your phone, computer, or TV! All you need is a library card to stream up to 10 titles per month. Watch in a browser or download the Kanopy app on your device to get started.

Comics Plus allows for unlimited, simultaneous access to thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga from a variety of library-friendly publishers — without worrying about holds, wait lists, or monthly limits.

Freegal allows you to download or stream music free just by using your library card. Download five songs per week, or stream 3 hours of music per week.

Magazines and Newspapers

Topsfield Library cardholders have digital access to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. We offer access to NYT Cooking, a subscription service of The New York Times that is a digital cookbook and guide.

The library offers online access to Boston Globe (text-only), Boston Herald, and Salem News (text-only).

Overdrive Magazines, available through the Overdrive Digital Library, includes hundreds of popular titles in flip-through format, which can be downloaded to the Overdrive or Libby app.  New additions include The Economist and The New Yorker.

Online Databases for Research

The Topsfield Town Library provides research to countless databases for research, including: Creativebug (view tutorial), which provides unlimited access to thousands of online art and craft classes; Global Road Warrior (view tutorial), an extensive country-by-country resource for learning about culture, customs, history, and language worldwide; Peterson’s Career Prep (Gale, view tutorial) supports building resumes, job hunting, and discovering new careers; EBSCOhost which includes access to MasterFILE Premier, Business Source Premier, and Health Source; Genealogical Databases Ancestry Library Edition (in-library use only, view tutorial) and HeritageQuest (view tutorial); and much, much more!
