Do you know your PIN? Starting January 4, you will need your PIN to access Overdrive/Libby

As of January 4, 2023, our patrons will need to enter their library PINs to access their OverDrive/Libby accounts for eBooks, eAudiobooks and other OverDrive resources. All MVLC libraries are implementing this change to improve security and to better protect patron privacy.

The PIN is the same password that patrons use to sign into individual accounts in the library catalog.  If you do not remember your PIN and you have an email address on file with the library, you can reset your PIN by clicking on the “Forgot PIN?” link on the library account page. Libby app users will receive a prompt to verify their card number shortly after this update occurs. This prompt will also include a field for the PIN. Patrons will enter the PIN at this time. Once a patron enters this information, the Libby app saves the information and should only prompt for verification if the account information changes. MVLC OverDrive website users will be prompted to log with a library card number and PIN on the “Sign In” screen. View this PDF highlighting the changes for more information.
