Summer Reading 2023 kicks off on Friday, June 16 at 6pm! Join us for the Summer Reading Kickoff Party outside the library (rain location: Masconomet High School cafeteria). Our first Summer Reading Kickoff Party since 2019 will have fun, games, and free ice pops!
The Topsfield Town Library Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Friends of the Topsfield Town Library. The Massachusetts Statewide Summer Library Program is funded by the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
Along with our summer events, there are opportunities to read and win prizes from June 16 to August 10. Welcome to Summer Reading 2023, where we are encouraging you to Read Around the World! We are offering a Summer Reading program for all ages, with different requirements and prizes.
Ages 0-19
Kids ages 0-4 can participate by downloading our Early Literacy Bingo sheet from our website or picking up a copy in the Children’s Room. Score a bingo, and return it to the Children’s Room to claim your prize.
Rising Kindergarteners – Rising 6th Graders can log their reading using our Beanstack site online, or through the Beanstack app available in the Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store.
Kids Grades K-6 who read and log 2 hours of reading by Monday mornings at 9 AM will be entered into that week’s prize drawing. Any kid who reads 16 hours by 8/10/2023 will earn a Topsfield Fair prize pack, which includes free admission (ages 8+), ride tickets, and more.
Teens ages 12-19 will receive a scratch-off bookmark with each checkout (one per day). Scratch off the circle. If you win a prize, turn your ticket in at the Children’s Room desk to claim it.

Adult Summer Reading
The Adult Summer Reading challenge is open to participants 18 years of age or older. The rules are simple: pick up an Adult Summer Reading Challenge bingo sheet at the library, or print it out here. Your bingo sheet includes reading challenges and activities.
Fill in the titles of books you’ve read (or listened to) over the summer that fulfill the challenge in the box, of check off activities you’ve completed. One book may fill multiple squares! Score five in a row in any direction and score BINGO! Each five-in-a-row completed on your bingo sheet is another entry into our drawing for a chance to win our main prize. A bingo sheet with each box completed equals twelve entries. Each participant may submit one bingo sheet.
Please submit your Summer Reading Bingo Sheet by Thursday, August 10th at 7pm. A winner will be randomly chosen on Friday, August 11th; we will notify the winner by the contact information on their entry Bingo Sheet.
To encourage you to explore the world around you, our main prize this summer is a $50 gift card to Hotels.com. Our Summer Reading prize is brought to you by the Friends of the Topsfield Town Library!
