Outreach Services

The Topsfield Town Library and the Topsfield Council on Aging work together to offer free delivery of materials to residents unable to visit the library due to illness, immobility, or age. The library provides the materials and the Council on Aging drivers deliver them to your home.

Call the library to place holds on material you wish to check out, or have us offer personalized recommendations!

If you are interested in this service, please call the Reference Desk at 978-887-1528 x2200, or fill out a home delivery interest profile and return it to the Reference Desk by mail (1 South Common St., Topsfield, MA 01983) or by email.

At our pop-up library, you can register for a library card, learn about library services like home delivery, check out some popular titles, pick up some library swag, perhaps attend a Storytime, and more!

We’ve visited local community events (including Tri-Town Pride, celebrations of Earth Day, HomeGrown Market festivals, and more), communities within Topsfield (55+ communities like the Villages at Great Hill, Little Brook Village, and more), and cultural/recreational spots (like the splash pad at Bradley Palmer State Park or the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary), and more!

If you are interested in hosting a Pop-Up Library event in Topsfield, email Sean Smith at ssmith@topsfieldlibrary.org.

As part of our outreach services, the Topsfield Town Library is proud to announce Traveling Tech Help! We are excited to launch another way to meet our patrons where they are and help them navigate a world where technology is ever-changing. We offer drop-in, personalized assistance with technology, including the following:

  • Troubleshooting cell phones, tablets, or laptop computers;
  • Setting up and using email;
  • Using the Library’s e-resources, like Libby (to read e-books, e-audiobooks, or magazines) or Kanopy (streaming video/movies);
  • Connecting with family, friends, or others;
  • Getting a library card and accessing a library account;
  • Accessing virtual library programs via Zoom;
  • Completing daily online tasks;
  • Safely using the internet while avoiding scams;
  • Using Excel, Word, or other applications.

This help is free and confidential. Registration is not necessary at this time. Simply bring your phone, tablet, or device.

Please note: the Tech Help Librarian is limited to meeting in public spaces only (we cannot visit any private residence). Please note that we offer tech help services at the library’s reference desk at any time- call ahead at (978) 887-1528 ext. 2200 to schedule an appointment!
