Did you know that Topsfield Town Library cardholders get FREE access to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal online? In this post, we will walk you through the process of utilizing these wonderful resources!

Cardholders have free access to the New York Times news site, www.nytimes.com, and to New York Times Cooking (www.cooking.nytimes.com).

Bookmark the following link on your computer, mobile device, or any other device you plan on using to read the Times: https://databases.mvlc.org/connect/nyt/Topsfield. Log in with your library card number (on the back of your library card) and PIN.
Forgot your PIN, or misplaced your library card? Reach out to the library and we’ll get you the information you need!

After logging in, you are directed to a page with a redemption code. Click on the “Redeem” button to continue.

 

To take advantage of this resource, you need an account with the New York Times. Enter your email address (or sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple) and create your account. You only need to create an account once.

You’ll receive a notification that your access code is valid, and it’ll let you know when access ends:

 

That’s it! On every device you are logged into with your NYT account, you will have access to the New York Times through the library! Access is good for 24 hours; after that period, you will need to follow the link we asked you to bookmark on the top of the page (https://databases.mvlc.org/connect/nyt/Topsfield) to receive another access code. Simply hit redeem, log in with your New York Times account, and you’re good for another 24 hours!

Wall Street Journal

Topsfield Library cardholders have access to wsj.com! To access, we recommend bookmarking the following link on your computer, mobile device, or any other device you plan on reading the Wall Street Journal: https://databases.mvlc.org/connect/wsj/Topsfield. Log in with your library card number (on the back of your card).

To take advantage of this resource, you need an account with the Wall Street Journal. Create a Wall Street Journal account if you don’t already have one. If you have an already-existing account, you can sign in. You only need to create an account once. Then, you’ll be good to go! You’ll be able to read the Wall Street Journal on any device, as long as you’re signed into your Wall Street Journal account.

Access is good for 72 hours; after that period, you will need to follow the link we asked you to bookmark on the top of the page (https://databases.mvlc.org/connect/wsj/Topsfield) to receive another access code. Simply hit redeem, log in with your Wall Street Journal account, and you’re good for another 72 hours!
